I grew up in the Midwest but have lived in Texas for over 30 years. I have two daughters, two sons-in-law and three granddaughters. I started sewing at age 10, my mother taught me to sew simple items and I learned more in Junior high. When my children were born, I sewed couture clothing for them.

From there I moved on to Halloween costumes, prom and bridesmaid dresses. I started quilting later when a friend talked me into going to a Block of the Month class. It started an inspirational fire in me and ever since then I can't wait to start new projects!

The thing I love about quilts is the story that they tell. When a customer comes to pick up their quilt and they get emotional because of the story it tells. Seeing it makes me emotional because it means so much to them!

My quilting tradition is that three to four times a year, my family and close friends go away for a weekend - which we call "Quilt Camp". We spend the weekend sewing, crafting, knitting, scrap-booking, quilting, laughing, and eating! It's something we all look forward to and get creative ideas out of.

I love to read, sew, create, and learn new things. I am a list maker and am driven to complete projects. It's driving me crazy that I have four unfinished quilts ready to go! Time to get my Q'nique humming!
